The Lion’s Gate Oracle was created for the moments when life asks you to listen more deeply. When something is ending, something is emerging, or you find yourself standing between what has been and what comes next. Rooted in the wisdom of the White Lions, Pride Energy, and the Fourfold Wisdoms of Clarity, Focus, Purpose, and Aligned Action, the 64-card deck offers a way to meet those thresholds with greater awareness. The cards do not predict what will happen; they invite you into relationship with what is already present, helping you recognize what is asking to be seen, released, remembered, or brought into form.
What is the Lion's Gate?
The Lion’s Gate is a modern spiritual teaching that combines Western astrology, numerology, ancient Egyptian reverence for Sirius, and contemporary practices of intention and energetic awareness.
At its center is Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. In ancient Egypt, its heliacal rising. The first visible appearance before sunrise after a period of absence occurred near the Nile’s annual flooding and became associated with renewal, fertility, abundance, and a new agricultural cycle.
Modern teachings connect Sirius with the Sun’s passage through Leo, the sign of courage, vitality, creativity, sovereignty, and self-expression. Orion is also often included, creating a symbolic relationship among Earth, the Sun, Sirius, and the wider cosmos.
The Gate reaches its symbolic peak on August 8, or 8/8. In numerology, eight represents balance, abundance, power, and infinite potential.
In the way I work with the Lion’s Gate, its seasonal cycle lasts 17½ days, from July 26 through August 12, peaking on August 8. It opens gradually, gathering energy and illumination, then closes more quickly.
The open Gate brings hidden truths, patterns, longings, and possibilities into clearer awareness. For me, it became an entry point into a larger teaching.
Within the Lion’s Gate Oracle, the Gate is more than a calendar event. It is a living metaphor for life’s thresholds: endings, beginnings, decisions, awakenings, losses, callings, and moments of inner change.
To engage with it is to listen more deeply, notice what is present, release what no longer belongs, and recognize what may be calling us forward.
The Lion’s Gate is seasonal, but its wisdom extends beyond those 17½ days.
When the Gate Is Closed
The open Gate was my entry point—a time of heightened awareness and deep listening. But the closed Gate is where its teachings enter ordinary life.
Illumination alone does not create change. What we see must eventually meet our relationships, choices, habits, boundaries, work, creativity, and daily lives.
This is where insight becomes practice, awareness meets choice, and transformation begins.
The closed Gate is a place of integration, where what was seen, questioned, or awakened becomes embodied over time.
The open Gate may illuminate the path.
The closed Gate is where we begin to walk it.

The Guidebook
The Lion’s Gate Oracle Guidebook was created to take you beyond the image and message of each card and into the deeper teaching it carries.
Each of the 64 cards is accompanied by an expanded reflection designed to help you explore the card through awareness, inquiry, and lived experience. The teachings draw upon the wisdom of the Gate, the White Lions, the natural world, sacred relationship, and the many thresholds we encounter throughout a lifetime.
Within each card teaching, you’ll find Core Teaching, White Lion Wisdom, Lion’s Gate Portal, guidance for working with the card both during and outside the open Gate, a Reflection Question, and an Affirmation.
The guidebook is not meant to tell you what a card means once and for all. It offers a place to begin, a companion for listening more deeply, discovering your own relationship with the cards, and allowing their meaning to unfold differently each time you return.
Whether you pull a single card, move through a spread, or spend time with one teaching, the guidebook invites you to slow down, become curious, and listen for what is speaking to you now.
How to Work With This Deck
The Lion’s Gate Oracle was created to be worked with both during the open Gate and throughout the rest of the year. The cards remain the same, but the way you listen to them may shift depending on where you are in the cycle.
During the Open Gate
From July 26 through August 12, the cards can be used as companions for heightened listening and awareness. This is a time to notice what is being illuminated, what is asking for your attention, what may be ready to fall away, and what is beginning to emerge.
Pull a card as a daily companion, sit with a particular pathway, or move through a spread as you travel through the days of the Gate. Rather than looking for prediction, allow the cards to help you become more attentive to what is already moving within and around you.
The open Gate invites you to see, listen, receive, and remember.
When the Gate Is Closed
When the seasonal Gate closes, the work becomes more grounded. This is where the teachings move out of heightened awareness and into ordinary practice.
Return to the cards when you are making a decision, moving through change, feeling uncertain, seeking clarity, or noticing an old pattern asking for your attention. A card can become a question to live with, a practice to explore, or a reminder of something you already know but have temporarily forgotten.
The closed Gate invites you to integrate, choose, practice, and embody.
There Is No One Right Way
You do not need a particular ritual or level of experience to work with the deck. You may pull a single card, use a multi-card spread, journal with a teaching, meditate with an image, or simply keep a card nearby and notice how its meaning unfolds over time.
Let the deck become a conversation rather than an answer.
During the open Gate, listen for what is being revealed.
When the Gate is closed, ask how you will live what you have come to know.
Living Beings, Living Teachings
The White Lions of South Africa and elephants of Zimbabwe work together throughout the deck and guidebook.
They are living beings whose presence, relationships, and ways of moving through the world have informed how I understand many of these teachings.
So much of this work has been shaped by encounters with both animals presence, resilience, intelligence, and deep social bonds. What I offer through the Lion’s Gate Oracle is my own interpretation of what these amazing beings have awakened and taught within me.
The lions and elephants remind us of qualities that are deeply human as well: presence, dignity, discernment, relationship, protection, belonging, courage, memory, community, and the responsibility to live in right relationship with one another and with the Earth.
The White Lions and elephants of Zimbabwe are not simply symbols within this deck. The cards do not attempt to speak for them or reduce them to spiritual archetypes. Instead, they honor these animals as living beings and teachers whose presence invites us to pay closer attention to how we inhabit our own lives.
My relationship with the White Lions has grown through lived experience, study, and time spent in South Africa. My encounters with the elephants of Zimbabwe have revealed their resilience, intelligence, presence, and profound social bonds. What I offer through the Lion’s Gate Oracle is my own interpretation of what these experiences have awakened and taught within me.
The lions and elephants embody qualities that also speak to our human experience: presence, dignity, discernment, protection, belonging, courage, memory, community, and the responsibility to live in right relationship with one another and with the Earth.
Their wisdom is not something to possess, but something to encounter with humility and carry forward with respect. Their presence deepens our reverence for all living beings and reminds us that every creature has its own story, place, and way of belonging.
We listen to the lessons offered by the wild. We consider how our choices affect the habitats and communities other beings call home. And we allow what we learn to guide us toward greater compassion, responsibility, gratitude, and care.
