Listening, Remembering, and Becoming
The Lion’s Gate Oracle was created for the moments when life asks you to listen more deeply. When something is ending, something is emerging, or you find yourself standing between what has been and what comes next. Rooted in the wisdom of the White Lions, Pride Energy, and the Fourfold Wisdoms of Clarity, Focus, Purpose, and Aligned Action, the 64-card deck offers a way to meet those thresholds with greater awareness. The cards do not predict what will happen; they invite you into relationship with what is already present, helping you recognize what is asking to be seen, released, remembered, or brought into form.
What is the Lion's Gate?
The Lion’s Gate is a modern spiritual teaching that brings together astrology, numerology, ancient reverence for Sirius, and contemporary practices of intention and energetic awareness.
At its center is Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. In ancient Egypt, its heliacal rising appeared near the annual flooding of the Nile and became associated with renewal, fertility, abundance, and a new agricultural cycle.
Modern Lion’s Gate teachings also connect Sirius with the Sun’s passage through Leo and with the symbolic power of August 8, or 8/8, a date often associated in numerology with balance, abundance, power, and potential.
In the way I work with the Lion’s Gate, the seasonal cycle lasts 17½ days, from July 26 through August 12, reaching its peak on August 8.
Within the Lion’s Gate Oracle, the Gate is more than a calendar event. It is a living metaphor for life’s thresholds: endings, beginnings, decisions, awakenings, losses, callings, and moments of inner change.
The open Gate invites deeper listening and awareness. The closed Gate is where what has been seen begins to enter ordinary life through our relationships, choices, boundaries, work, and daily practice.
The open Gate may illuminate the path.
The closed Gate is where we begin to walk it.
How The Lion's Gate Oracle Came Into Being
The Lion’s Gate Oracle grew out of a relationship that began long before I knew it would become a deck.
In 2016, I traveled to Zimbabwe and South Africa, where I spent time with the White Lions of Timbavati and the teachings surrounding them. That journey became a turning point in my life and opened a deeper relationship with listening, remembrance, land, spirit, and the unseen.
Years later, the Lion’s Gate became another doorway into that listening. What began as a seasonal practice gradually revealed a larger body of work. Images, phrases, teachings, questions, and symbols began gathering over time.
The 64 cards emerged from that process, along with a companion guidebook created to hold the stories, reflections, practices, and questions that live behind each card.
The deck was not created all at once. It came through years of paying attention to what continued to return.
In many ways, the Lion’s Gate Oracle is the first tangible form of work that began with the White Lions almost a decade ago.

Seven Pathways Through the Gate
The 64-card Lion’s Gate Oracle moves through seven interconnected pathways. Each offers a different way of listening, seeing, remembering, and responding.
Lion Guardians — Presence, protection, remembrance, and relationship
Wisdom Keepers — Land, spirit, ancestry, and sacred wisdom
Pride Energy — Belonging, dignity, and truth
Clarity — Seeing what is true
Focus — Recognizing what matters
Purpose — Remembering what is calling you
Aligned Action — Bringing what you know into form
Together, these pathways create a movement through the deck: from relationship and remembrance, into deeper listening, and ultimately toward clarity, purpose, and action.
The Guidebook
The companion guidebook expands the 64 cards through story, reflection, teaching, and inquiry.
Rather than giving fixed answers, it is designed to deepen the conversation with each card and help you notice what is present, what is shifting, and what may be asking for your attention.
The guidebook can be used alongside a single card, with a spread, as part of journaling or meditation, or simply opened when you are looking for another way into a question.
It is meant to be returned to over time, because the same card can speak differently depending on where you are in your life.
How to Work With the Deck
The Lion’s Gate Oracle can be used during the open Gate and throughout the year.
During the open Gate, the cards can support deeper listening, reflection, and awareness of what is asking to be seen, released, reclaimed, or brought forward.
Throughout the year, return to the deck during transitions, decisions, questions, creative periods, or moments when you feel called to pause and listen more closely.
Pull one card, work with a spread, journal with an image, meditate with a card, or simply keep one nearby as a question to live with.
There is no one right way to work with the deck. The invitation is to notice what is present and allow your relationship with the cards to deepen over time.
Living Beings, Living Teachings
The lions and elephants within this deck are not simply symbols to me. They are living beings whose presence, intelligence, relationships, and ways of moving through the world have deeply shaped this work.
The White Lions carry teachings of dignity, belonging, presence, courage, and remembrance. The elephants bring their own wisdom of memory, family, connection, protection, and relationship to land.
I do not see these qualities as ideas placed onto them. I experience them as invitations to pay closer attention to what these beings reveal through the way they live.
The deck honors that relationship by asking us not only what an animal may symbolize, but what we can learn by observing, listening, and remembering that we are part of the same living world.
