One Conversation. One Story. A Gift That Lasts.
A personal storytelling experience that turns a relaxed, recorded conversation into a beautifully written story shaped from your memories and preserved in your voice, as a lasting digital and printed keepsake.
The stories that matter, preserved in your voice.
One Story is the center point of this work.
It is both the process of listening for what matters and the finished keepsake that emerges from it. From that center, One Story can take three different directions: Your Voice, Many Voices, and A Lasting Message.
One Story, Your Voice is where it began.
My first and signature expression of One Story, it is the gift of your story.
It can be something you choose for yourself. A chance to reflect on your life, follow the memories that emerge, and preserve them in your own voice. Or it can be given to someone you love, offering them the experience of being deeply listened to and having a piece of their life preserved.
Give the gift of your story or the gift of someone having theirs heard and remembered.
Through relaxed, recorded conversation, we follow the memories, people, relationships, and moments that have helped shape who you are. It is not a full biography, a questionnaire, or an attempt to document everything that has happened.
There is no predetermined path and no need to decide beforehand what story to tell.
We follow what emerges.
A childhood memory may open into family, relationships, places, traditions, turning points, laughter, loss, or something that has not been thought about in years.
I listen for the threads. The details, humor, relationships, memories, and moments that carry meaning and shape them into one cohesive first-person narrative, written to reflect your voice and way of speaking.
The conversation itself is part of the experience: a chance to remember, reflect, laugh, be deeply listened to, and sometimes see the connections between your stories in a new way.
The finished keepsake is One Story.
Within it live the memories and stories that reveal something of who you are, preserved in your voice for the people you love now and the generations who come after.
One Story. Your Voice. Give the gift of your story.
A story told by the people who know them best.
Sometimes the most meaningful gift is hearing how we have lived in the lives of the people around us.
One Story, Many Voices brings together family members, friends, or colleagues to share memories about someone they love, appreciate, or want to honor.
It might be the story everyone still laughs about, a friendship that changed a life, a moment of kindness no one forgot, or several people remembering the same person in completely different ways.
Through relaxed recorded conversations, I listen for the memories, details, relationships, and moments that reveal the person at the center. I then weave those voices together into one beautifully written story.
The finished keepsake may be funny, tender, surprising, poignant—or all of those things at once.
It can be a meaningful gift for milestone birthdays, retirements, anniversaries, weddings, family celebrations, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, celebrations of life, or simply to say:
This is how you have mattered to us.
Many voices. One story. One person remembered through the lives they have touched.
There is something deeply moving about having words and stories to return to after someone is gone.
One Story, A Lasting Message is a shorter, intimate storytelling experience created around what we most want to remember, say, or carry forward.
It can be created for yourself at any stage of life. You might record a story, memory, message, or meaningful conversation to leave alongside your will or other important family documents. A way for the people you love to have something of your voice, perspective, and what you want them to remember.
It can also be created during end-of-life care or hospice, offering a gentle space to speak in your own words, at your own pace, about what matters most.
And sometimes the story is created after someone has died.
A family member, friend, or several people who loved and miss them can share the memories, laughter, relationships, and moments they continue to carry. I listen for the threads and shape what is shared into a story that honors the person at the center. A keepsake for the people who remain.
It may be created for a funeral, memorial, or celebration of life, or simply because there are stories you do not want to lose.
It does not have to tell an entire life.
Sometimes one story, one message, or one gathering of memories says what needs to be said.
A story for the people you love. A message to carry forward.
Every One Story project begins in the same place:
With a conversation.
There is nothing to prepare, organize, or write, and no set list of questions to work through.
You share a story. I listen. We follow the threads.
How that conversation unfolds depends on the story being created.
One Story, Your Voice, follows one person’s memories and the stories that naturally emerge. One memory may lead into childhood, family, relationships, places, traditions, turning points, laughter, loss, or something that has not been thought about in years.
One Story, Many Voices, the story evolves across the memories and perspectives of family members, friends, or colleagues, gathering the different stories and details that reveal the person at the center.
One Story, A Lasting Message, a shorter and more focused conversation, creating space for one story, message, memory, or conversation someone wants to leave for the people they love.
There is no predetermined path and no need to know exactly what you want to say before we begin.
You and I follow what emerges and listen for the story underneath the memories.
Afterward, I gather what carries meaning, including the details, relationships, humor, memories, and moments, and shape it into one cohesive written story.
For Your Voice, the storyteller’s own voice and way of speaking remain at the center. For Many Voices, I weave different memories and perspectives together into one shared story. For A Lasting Message, I preserve the intimacy and intention of what someone most wants to say or leave behind.
The finished story is then reviewed before becoming a thoughtfully designed keepsake to preserve and share.
Platforms such as StoryWorth and Remento preserve memories through prompts, questions, and guided responses.
One Story is a different kind of experience.
There are no questionnaires to complete, answers to write, or prompts to work through on your own.
The conversation is the process.
It is a chance to remember, reflect, laugh, wander through memories, say what matters, and be deeply listened to.
My role is not simply to record what happened. I listen for what carries meaning and for the threads that reveal the story asking to be told.
I am the Scribe.
I listen. I follow the threads. I shape what emerges while keeping the voices and people at the heart of the story.
You bring the memories. I listen for the story.

A story for the people you love. A message to carry forward.
Some stories are worth preserving simply because they matter.
A childhood memory. A relationship. A family tradition. A turning point. A place once called home. The story everyone still laughs about. A message you want someone you love to carry with them.
We often assume these stories will always be there. But details fade, memories change, and sometimes we do not realize what we wish we had asked, heard, or saved until the opportunity has passed.
Preserving a story keeps more than the memory. It holds something of a person’s voice, perspective, humor, relationships, and the way they moved through the lives of others.
That may mean preserving your own memories through One Story, Your Voice, gathering family or friends to honor someone through One Story, Many Voices, or creating One Story, A Lasting Message to leave something meaningful for the people you love.
It can mark a birthday, anniversary, retirement, family milestone, celebration of life, or another important moment.
Or there may be no occasion at all.
Sometimes the reason is simply that the story matters and you want to make sure it remains.
From the time I was twelve, I knew I was gay. The problem was not knowing. It was what to do with knowing. For years, I built a life around hiding that truth, until I reached a point where growth required me to risk the safety of everything familiar and step fully into who I was.
Hope is almost five, full of excitement for her birthday and the ordinary joys of childhood.
Her mother reflects on the humor, tenderness, and growing independence that are beginning to shape who Hope is becoming.
Stephanie’s story traces the journey from childhood instability and repeated loss to finding the strength to trust her own knowing. A single moment of choosing truth became the turning point that helped her leave an old pattern behind and find her way back to herself.
One Story makes space for it to emerge
My professional life began in healthcare, where I learned that some of the most important moments happen when we slow down, pay attention, and give another person the space to speak.
That understanding followed me through nearly four decades of work across healthcare, coaching, writing, and storytelling.
Today, my role is that of the Scribe.
I listen closely, not only for what happened, but for the details, humor, relationships, emotions, memories, and moments that reveal something about the person and the life being remembered.
I follow the threads and gather what emerges into one cohesive first person story, written to reflect the storyteller’s voice and way of speaking.
I am not here to tell your story for you. I am here to listen closely enough to help you preserve it in your own voice.
I am here to listen deeply enough to help you preserve the story that is already yours.
